Sweet 'n Hot BBQ Chicken Recipe

What You Need

1/2

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce

2

Tbsp. honey

1-1/2

tsp. hot pepper sauce

1/4

tsp. garlic powder

1

broiler-fryer chicken (3 lb.), cut up

Make It

HEAT greased grill to medium heat.

MIX all ingredients except chicken.

GRILL chicken 35 to 40 min. or until done (165ºF), turning occasionally and brushing with barbecue sauce mixture for the last 10 min.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with grilled vegetables and a fresh fruit salad.

Variation

Prepare as directed, substituting 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves for the cut-up fryer and reducing the grilling time to 12 to 15 min. or until chicken is done (165ºF).

I marinated chicken breasts in italian salad dressing for about an hour before putting them on the grill. The bbq sauce was very tasty but I would probably add a little more hot pepper sauce since it wasn't very spicy. Big hit at our bbq!

It was good. Personally a little to much zang for me. My husband gobbled his down and was asking for more!! I would only put a 1/2 t of hot sauce for less spice.

From the comment right below, Sorry, I put the roll in the toaster oven (to get the bread a little toasty, not the microwave)and let it heat up with the swiss cheese on top til it melted. Delicious!!

This recipe was great! It was simple and had the perfect contrast with sweet and spicy. I did double the sauce and marinated the chicken in half and basted the chicken while grilling with the rest! Thanks for a "keeper"

I made this for dinner the other day and even my son who hasn't acquired the taste for hot and spicy foods loved this. It was horrible weather out so I didn't use the grill but next time I make this it will definately be on the grill. I did as some previous viewers stated to double the sauce. I made the first batch and marinated the chicken for a few hours then I basted the chicken once it was in the oven for a while. Thanks Kraft.

This recipe was sooooo good! I had to add more hot sauce because it wasn't spicy enough. Be sure to taste it before you are done to check the spice level on it.

Made this last night. As another reviewer mentioned I made a double batch of the marinade, put in the frig for about 40 mins, poured the last of the sauce over it, covered with foil and baked 30 mins, uncovered to brown a bit. LOVED IT !! Thanks for a "KEEPER"
