  • Heat oven to 425°F.
  • Toss strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar.
  • Stir baking mix, milk, 3 Tbsp. sugar and butter in large bowl until mixture forms soft dough. Drop into 6 mounds, 2 inches apart, on baking sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 min. or until golden brown. Cool slightly.
  • Split shortcakes; fill and top with strawberries and COOL WHIP.

Variation

Prepare using low-fat all-purpose baking mix, margarine and COOL WHIP LITE Whipped Topping.

These easy-to-make shortcakes make great desserts to serve at a summer dinner party.

Special Extra

For a more decadent dessert, add 6 squares chopped BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate to the shortcake dough before baking. Assemble desserts as directed, then drizzle with your favorite chocolate sauce just before serving.

    This recipe was such a hit. I made it for my boyfriend's work party and made them mini bite size shortcakes. I had extra whip cream in case anyone wanted to dip their mini sandwich into.
