I try to make a casserole dish once a week for him to use for dinner 2 or 3 nights a week when he gets home from work. I was starting to make the same old casserole recipes so was ready to try something new. My husband raved about this one. He really enjoyed it. Me too. I used shredded mozzarella cheese instead of swiss and I used low fat miracle whip to keep the fat content down. It turned out great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe today, however, I had to change a few things such as the croutons. I made this recipe today, however, I had to change a few things such as the croutons. I am a gluten-free eater therefore, I made my own croutons using my gluten-free bread. I left out the celery and onions because my family does not like them. I used regular Mayonnaise and some sliced swiss cheese I already had. In addition, I doubled the recipe since I have a son that eats his portion and everybody else's. My son tried it first and proclaimed it very good and I tried it and I agree 100%!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yummy, warm, & filling- fav for years! My mom made this the first time when I was in elementary school- about 30 years ago! The recipe was cut out from a magazine and put in "the" recipe book my mom keeps of recipes that are definitely keepers, and I, in turn, made a photo copy for my own recipe binder when I left home. It's perfect just the way it is, but If you don't like celery or onions, you can leave them out- just add a little onion salt or powder instead. It may sound silly, but one of my favorite parts of the recipe is the surprise in what you're going to pick up in your fork- celery, a softened crouton, or a piece of chicken- since they all look the same after being cooked! And it's also a good make-ahead dish since the flavors blend more after cooking and serve well the next day or night.

This time I used a whole onion, 2 cups of celery, 16 oz of swiss, I reserved some cheese to sprinkle on the top, I also used the entire box of crutons and I only used 1/2 a cup of Miracle Whip. I also added 1/2 teasp. black pepper. The first time I made it, it was too tangy and the cheese flavor did not come through enough. This time it was excellent!! I can't wait to have leftovers tonight!

It reminds me of a casserole I used to make for my daughter, but it was more time comsuming, where this is very simple to put together. Only made a few changes, I used mayo instead of the MW, we don't care for it, and I added a can of button mushrooms and a tad of the broth from the chicken. I think next time I will add more cheese. Overall, very good and I will definately include this one in my recipe box. Thanks, Kraft...another winner!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this recipe. Loved this recipe. Quick and easy for emptying out the refrigerator. I used leftover turkey, garlic herb croutons, extra onions, didn't have milk so used half and half, had a little swiss cheese and supplemented it with a Mexican blend of 4 cheeses. Instead of nuts for the top I used chopped bacon which I cook in bulk and then keep in my freezer for future use. It turned out great and I'll be making this again. Wonder how it would taste with ham...hmmm?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time tested The original recipe called for slivered toasted almonds, and this is the dish I made for a new boyfriend, who loved Miracle Whip, not mayo, on his sandwiches. Well, that casserole captured his attention, and I captured his heart. We've been married 42 years, and he will ask for this "sweetheart casserole" from time to time. It's still simple, and still delicious. (And, I still use that clipped-from-a-magazine sheet when I make this...some things just don't need to be "tweaked"!)

I added zucchini , gr peppers, 2/3 of a large can of cream of chicken soup , small container of sour cream , paprika and seasoned my chicken. Also, one cup cheese /garlic croutons, and subbed a cup of cooked noodles for the other cup of croutons.did everything else the same though. My picture should be up soon and the 3rd one check it out. It was delicious , made a lot too. Froze half of it, since there is only two of us. Mine was 5 stars.
