Absolutely Delicious! The taste is very fresh and has a definite Asian-flare. I used bagged cole slaw mix with diced green onions, tossed in fat-free Miracle Whip. I spooned the mixture onto large lettuce leaves and then added a dash of soy sauce and a small sprinkling of slivered almonds to each wrap. They were crunchy and packed with flavor. Also, I made 4 of them - just as a quick lunch for me - and they were very filling for only about 80 calories total!
This was an inspiring recipe although I did things a bit differently. I got large leaf iceberg lettuce and used low fat sesame ginger dressing from kraft instead of the hoisin sauce. In the pre-packaged salad area in the grocery store they had a package of pre-julienned veggies including broccoli hearts, carrot, cabbage, and I added celery for a crunch. also fresh flaked tuna added a great bit of lean protein to this dish. I put enough "stuffing" inside the leaves to make two small "burritos" for my boyfriend and I each. they were fabulous. maybe I will try it with a bit of chilled rice or cous cous next time. will make again!!
I made these for a date night at home. It could really have used some flavoring besides the hoisin sauce which I'm not a huge fan of. The Mayo did nothing for it and it was difficult to wrap tightly in the lettuce so a lot would fall out. I think with a different sauce and maybe a different lettuce leaf (we used Boston) this could definitely be better. It was fun to try though!
