Run fork down sides of unpeeled cucumbers before slicing.

This is a wonderful recipe, and it reminds me of Greece and it's great Greek Salads. The only difference was black olives and feta cheese strewn atop the salad. I do use a straight olive oil and white balsamic vinaigrette homemade dressing, however. And yes, try to use smaller tomatoes such as plum-Roma tomatoes. They are darker and more flavorful, adding to the natural appeal of this salad.
This is the traditional Greek salad (just add feta), not what you see in diners. What you've seen in diners is the "Americanized" version.
The next time you go into a Greek restaurant ask or look for the "Horiatiki" salad.
