Substitute 1 cup refried beans for the browned ground beef. Mix with salsa and chili powder in saucepan; cook on medium heat 5 min. or until heated through, stirring frequently. Spoon into chips, then top with cheese and bake as directed.
For Extra Heat
Add 1 tsp. finely chopped fresh or jarred jalapeño peppers to cooked meat mixture along with the salsa and chili powder.
