  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine flour and baking powder. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until well blended after each addition. Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 30 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Pierce warm cake with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals. Combine 2% milk, condensed milk and evaporated milk; pour slowly over top of cake. (Milk mixture will slowly be absorbed by the cake.) Cool completely.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until ready to serve. Frost cake with COOL WHIP just before serving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe, but made several changes to make it lower fat/cal. I made this recipe, but made several changes to make it lower fat/cal. I took a van. cake mix and used egg whites and applesauce for the oil. I used fat free: condensed milk, milk and cool whip free. We then topped it with cool whip free. I sliced the cake and put strawberry slices and once slice of kiwi on each piece. We had our neighbors over for coffee and dessert and it was a HUGE hit!!!! Be sure to make the night before to give time for the liquids to be absorbed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe three times so far. I made this recipe three times so far. We had landscapers doing a backyard renovation for us last month and I made this as a thank you on their last day - big hit with the mostly Hispanic workers. I made it again for a family dinner - also well received. I used French Vanilla Cool Whip the first time which we really liked better than the plain. It's hard to find though - hope it's not being discontinued.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this cake for Father's Day and my husband really liked it. I made this cake for Father's Day and my husband really liked it. In reading the ingredients it sounded really rich, but it doesn't taste rich, just very light and moist. We especially liked the Cool Whip as icing. I will definitely make this cake again. I'm thinking of using it as a base for Strawberry Shortcake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This cake is great. This cake is great. Everyone really liked it. I think it would have been better with fresh fruit, such as strawberries. Very easy. Many people commented that it was too soggy. Tres Leche is supposed to be like that. I would even say that you could add extra of the milk mixture if you wanted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this cake for my Dads Birthday. I made this cake for my Dads Birthday. My family loved it, I didnt really care for the taste. I thought it would be sweeter. However my mom and sister raved about it. So if I make it again maybe I'll add some fresh fruit to the top or on the side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I used less milk mixture than the recipe called for. I used less milk mixture than the recipe called for. I have also made it by substituting a boxed cake mix made by the box instructions in place of the "batter" ingredients. It was fine to make and frost the day before and store in the fridge.
