Here is the way I make this salad, which is a perfect accompaniment to any meal...party, holiday or everyday! Instead of fresh oranges, use 1-2 small cans of drained, mandarin orange sections; no banana, use halved, drained marrachinno cherries; add about 1 cup finely chopped walnuts, and 1/2 cup raisins or craisins for variety. The longer this is chilled, the better the flavor. :)

Next time I make this, I'll use the lemon juice trick because following the directions made my bananas turn brown. The taste was nice but it would have been better to cut back on the sour cream and add more whipped cream. I also had plenty left over but no one wanted it because the bananas didn't look very appealing.

Not a good idea because the entire dish wasn't eaten in one night. However I did add additional cherries and my daughter loved it!
