Rated 4 out of 5 by from I didn't use the Sour cream or the mayo.. I didn't use the Sour cream or the mayo.. We had something like this in Hawaii, but with Yogart.. I make this with non-fat strawberry yogart, also no grapefruit..used oranges instead... Actually you can use any fruit you chose..throw in some grapes, bananas, canned pineapples in its own juice if you cannot find fresh, kewi, Apples ect. This is so refreshing in the summer, and everyone seems to love it.. I make a big bowl of it, and served it with a BBQ.. This can even be served as a desert, in brandy glasses, or I have cut papaya's in half, and put all the fruit on the top of it, on a flat desert plate for each person...

To the cook on 4/26/05, this is called a fruit SALAD, that would explain the mayo and sour cream. Have you ever had a Waldorf Salad? This is very similar to that type. I have made many variations of this salad, this one is great. Mandarine oranges and bananas work great also.

I've tried a similar recipe with peeled and diced plums, the tart flavor tastes great with the sweet pineapple and mango! also, these fruits taste great combined with no dressing at all, the natural juices make it moist enough.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mayo & sour cream is an odd thing to put on fruit. Mayo & sour cream is an odd thing to put on fruit. Next time, I'll just use lo-fat vanill yogurt with the orange juice, and there's enough sugar in fruit, no need to add more!
