Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Heat oven to 425ºF.
  • Prepare stuffing as directed on package; mound in center of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Place turkey, breast side up, on top of stuffing, covering stuffing completely. Brush turkey with oil.
  • Bake 30 min. Reduce oven temperature to 325ºF. Bake turkey an additional 45 min. to 1 hour or until turkey is done (165ºF). Let stand 10 min. before carving. Meanwhile, heat gravy in small saucepan; stir in sour cream.
  • Serve turkey and stuffing topped with gravy.

How to Prepare Stuffing Separately from Turkey

Prepare turkey as directed but do not bake with stuffing. Prepare stuffing as directed on package during the turkey standing time. Serve with turkey and gravy as directed.

How to Test for Doneness

Because of the variations in sizes and shapes, the easiest way to ensure that the turkey and stuffing are done is to check the temperatures - both should have an internal temperature of 165ºF. Simply insert the thermometer into the center of the stuffing or thickest part of the turkey breast, avoiding any bones.

Substitute

Prepare using STOVE TOP Cornbread Stuffing or STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Turkey.

Who knew you could buy a turkey breast Thanksgiving morning and have a full dinner ready by early afternoon! This was so simple and so delicious. This will become a family tradition for us. We weren't going to make a turkey since I have to work the Friday after Thanksgiving and leave on a trip Saturday. But when we went to the grocery store on Thanksgiving morning, my husband recited all the ingredients for this recipie by heart so I knew he really wanted a turkey dinner. On Thanksgiving morning, all the ingredients are on sale. The turkey breast cost us five dollars. We love the way the turkey and stuffing cooked together in the same dish and it was absolutely delicious. It fulfilled all my husband's expections and exceeded mine! Simple to clean up too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very simple classic. A very simple classic. I substituted 3 chicken breasts with ribs for the turkey breast. Worked beautifully. I do recommend seasoning the chicken. The dressing stayed moist and delicious underneath the chicken, and soaked up lots of chicken flavor. The sour cream in the gravy was wonderful. I'd never heard of doing that but it made it very good and rich. Didn't taste like it came out of a jar. Will make this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can also add 1/4-1/2 c. You can also add 1/4-1/2 c. dried cranberries to the water as you are fixing the stuffing mix. It's a wonderful addition to the mix. (you can find stuffing w/ cranberries at Christmas time, but we like it all year)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very simple and good. Very simple and good. I bought a boneless turkey breast by accident. It would have been better with a bone-in turkey breast.
