  • Place coffee in filter in brew basket of coffee maker; sprinkle with cardamom. Pour honey into empty pot of coffee maker.
  • Add water to coffee maker, filling to 10-cup line. Brew.
  • Stir before serving.

Start with a Clean Coffee Pot

It's very important that you wash your coffee-maker pot and filter container thoroughly at least once a week. Unpleasant-tasting oils can stick to the glass container and plastic filter holder. Avoid using harsh dish soap, which can leave a residue. Instead, use a mixture of baking soda and water or a packaged coffee pot cleaning product. Finish the job by rinsing thoroughly with plenty of clean water.

How to Keep Coffee Hot

Immediately after brewing, transfer coffee to a thermal carafe. Coffee will stay fresh and hot for over 90 min. Coffee left in the pot on the heating element longer than 20 min. continues to heat and "cook" the coffee, giving it a bitter taste.
