This is a very good recipe, my ***** on the sauce would be to prepare a simple white sauce first so you can double your cheese sauce and it is much more creamy. I use a small sauce pan and melt 2-3 table spoons of butter, then add about 2 table spoons flour or enough to make a paste, then add a cup of milk slowly and let it thicken over medium high heat, once it starts to thicken add your cheese, chives, bell pepper, or whatever else you like in your sauce. We tried this with a little blue cheese and OH MY GOSH was it good. I also used a little worechester in the meat mixture as it would have been bland without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 stars and a keeper with a bit of tweaking to our personal tastes. 5 stars and a keeper with a bit of tweaking to our personal tastes. I basically doubled the sauce and noodle part of the recipe, used 1 8oz pkg of cream cheese, 1 tsp sniped fresh dill, 1 cup of sour cream, 2 lg cloves of pressed garlic, 1/2 cup of white wine and 1 beef bouillon cube. At the very end added 1 more Tb of butter. We aren't skimpy eaters so this made 2 nice hearty portions. I've made this 3 times since first coming across the recipe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy, not too many ingredients (used less cream cheese and added half and half) I had some pre-sliced steak for stirfry and mushrooms on hand. My husband is on low carb diet so I used this recipe with what I had on hand. I added some half and half because I only had a half package of cream cheese (actually Philadelphia 1/3 less fat Neufchatel chese). I added the Worcestershire sauce as suggested by other reviewers. My husband ate it over sauted kale and my son and I ate it over the noodles. Quite good and best of all simple.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok. Ok. This was the first time I have ever tried Beef Stroganoff, so I really don't have anything to compare this to. I could only find the savory garlic cooking creme, which was good enough. I doubled the recipe to feed my whole family. The only complaint I have is that this was a little bland. Salting the meat prior to cooking, maybe some thyme sprinkled in, and definately some worchestershire sauce next time would make it better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I agree with a previous poster, this is too bland as is. I agree with a previous poster, this is too bland as is. I am a huge cream cheese fan, but I still prefer the tang of sour cream in this dish. Also, I'm not sure fresh mushrooms add anything over canned. And it's just not complete with Worcestshire. My opinion formed from years of experience, for what it's worth.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from creamy but bland followed instruction doubled ingredients for party size and was creamy but really bland had to spice it up with way more garlic and peeper then recomended but after my adjustment (added sour cream for more creminess) i say it turned out all right just not the mom's stroganoff i remember

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I thought this was ok. I thought this was ok. Honestly I thought it was a little overly creamy and thick and a little bland. It was missing that all important tangy kick that you get from sour cream. Don't get me wrong...I love the philly cooking cream...just not big on this one. Not bad...not great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good and easy. Very good and easy. Although I did use ground beef instead and also added a little of the savory garlic cooking cream to give it just a little more flavor. But great recipe.
