VELVEETA Cheeseburger Mac Recipe

What You Need

1

lb. ground beef

2-3/4

cups water

1/3

cup ketchup

1

tsp. onion powder

2

cups elbow macaroni, uncooked

1/2

lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA®, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Make It

BROWN meat in large skillet; drain.

ADD water, ketchup and onion powder; mix well. Bring to boil. Stir in macaroni; cover. Simmer on medium-low heat 8 to 10 min. or until macaroni is tender.

STIR in VELVEETA; cook until melted, stirring occasionally.

Serve with a cooked crisp green vegetable, such as broccoli.

Substitute

Substitute rotini for the elbow macaroni.

I really like this!! It's quick and easy and I always have the items needed on hand. I just add a bit of garlic powder too for a liitle extra flavor. I feel like it reheats well, like a prior review just add a bit of milk to it!

We love this recipe. So easy and a twist on pasta and cheeseburgers. Great recipe for children.

Oh & I read that it didn't reheat well. I reheated it, added a little milk and stirred. It was great!

I've been making this basic recipe for years. I also cook the macaroni separately from the hamburger and then combine everything once it's cooked. My son calls this "McOnion Burger" because I add french fried onions. I also add a can of cream of mushroom or chicken soup, half a can of milk and extra cheddar cheese. No catsup. Add half a can of french fried onions to the mix, pour it all in a casserole dish, top with more shredded cheese and the other half of the onions and bake at 350 for 10-15 mins or until cheese is melted and onions browned.

After reading other suggestions, I added a little bit of BBQ sauce with the ketchup,fried up some bacon, then removed it to crumble and added at the end, so it didn't get too soggy. WONDERFUL

I substitute one can of Mexican tomatoes with green chiles (undrained) for the 3/4 cup water. Gives it a good zing. I also eliminate the ketchup and onion powder.

This was really good! I added more ketchup, mustard, and diced kosher dill pickles once it was done. I also added some season salt and garlic powder to give it more flavor. Yummy!!
