Like others, it took me 2-3 times to tweak it -- Use milk (low fat) instead of water. 1 1/2 lb ground beef 2-3 tablespoons onion FLAKES 5-6 slices of Velveeta (if you don't have the brick) 2 cans tomato soup and swish *****ans with one of the cups of milk 1 1/2 red bell pepper - chopped with chopper Control if it it's too liquidy or too dry with/without lid during simmering. (The 1/3 cup of ketchup is hardly noticeable - for those who complained) Leftovers are GREAT using microwave --maybe add a little milk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from If you are a person who sees a plate of mac and cheese and immediately runs for the ketchup bottle,... If you are a person who sees a plate of mac and cheese and immediately runs for the ketchup bottle, this recipe is for you. All I could taste was the ketchup. The flavor of the cheese was nearly completely obliterated. My husband liked it, but I didn't. To the leftovers I added a bunch more of Velveeta and that made it tolerable to me. I have a recipe that's similar that I think came from Kraft as well. You just use the boxed Kraft mac and cheese. You brown the meat, add the boxed mac and cheese, 1 1/2 cups water and a 14 oz can of tomatoes and cook covered about 10 minutes until the water is absorbed. Top with about 1/2 cup shredded cheddar and let it melt. FAR superior to this!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from With the summer months here it's always nice to have something quick and done on top of the stove. With the summer months here it's always nice to have something quick and done on top of the stove. This was easy but definately not worth it. I did put the water right in with chop meat and all the water was absorbed. It was not creamy enough. Maybe putting less cheese instead of the amount they said would help. I always have enough for leftovers and I'm not looking forward to it. My hubby enjoyed it but I didn't and you know the old saying....If Momma ain't happy...nobody is. So I guess since he liked it he will have it tonite for dinnner and I will have something else. :-(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I've been making this basic recipe for years. I've been making this basic recipe for years. I also cook the macaroni separately from the hamburger and then combine everything once it's cooked. My son calls this "McOnion Burger" because I add french fried onions. I also add a can of cream of mushroom or chicken soup, half a can of milk and extra cheddar cheese. No catsup. Add half a can of french fried onions to the mix, pour it all in a casserole dish, top with more shredded cheese and the other half of the onions and bake at 350 for 10-15 mins or until cheese is melted and onions browned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My son and I really like this recipe! My son and I really like this recipe! I wasn't so sure about all that kethcup, so I took the 1/3 cup and put Worchestershire sauce, BBQ sauce and ketchup to fill the cup. I cooked the beef with a small amount of minced onion and some garlic powder. We also used bow tie pasta since we were out of elbows. I used almost 3 cups of bow ties to get the about same weight of the elbows. With all the changes it came out really good and we will enjoy having it again! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I grew up on this recipe. I grew up on this recipe. The ketchup may seem strange, but it blends in perfect with the velveeta. If you think it tastes too ketchupy, you didn't follow the directions! Honestly, i usually add more ketchup to it at the table. Leftovers of this usually don't reheat well, so I only make enough for the meal. Liking things spicy, we add Cholula hot sauce and chili powder to the meat as it cooks, and add in more chili powder to taste when its finishing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and easy! Quick and easy! I added some extra spices - chili powder, worcestershire sauce and garlic powder since my 2 year old likes things spicy! He ate a whole plate without me having to ask him to finish eating once! I will definitely make this again. I also used the Velveeta made with 2 % milk to cut down some of the fat in the recipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Cheesy Dish!!! I hadn't cooked in quite a while and wanted to ease back in, so I wanted to make something simple but scrumptious! Velveeta Cheeseburger Mac went way beyond & above my expectations for not just an easy meal to make (which it was), but also a meal of substance! Easier than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I kid you not!!!!!
