My first try was a quick taste of the cornbread mixture before popping it in the oven. I thought maybe some soap had gotten on the spoon. Nasty, had to eat something to get the bad taste out of my mouth. I cooked it according to directions and when it was done, I opened the oven door it smelled that same nasty taste as before. I tried a taste and still NASTY! Gotta do something about the cornbread before I'll try this again. Ended up throwing the whole dish away. What a waste!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 rating based on my additions. 5 rating based on my additions. To the beef, I diced onions/red bell, add a little taco seasoning (maybe less package seasoning) and Worcestershire. I also sprinkled parmesan after cheese sauce. To cornbread, I sauted onions and 1/4 c creamed corn, then add to mix. It was amazing! I'm a person that believes cooking from a box is just a template and adding the stuff that can't be refridgerated is part of the job. They make it easy, I make it good! Enjoy:)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I believe that the "cornbread" mix was accidentally replaced with yellow cake mix. I believe that the "cornbread" mix was accidentally replaced with yellow cake mix. The so called cornbread or "cake" which is actually rather tasty by itself and the chili mix which was really good with the rotel in it. However cake + chili = NASTY. If (BIG if) I get this again I will enjoy the "cake cornbread" AFTER the chili.

Okay so first off I always add things to the Velveeta cheesy skillets but there was no saving this one, the meat was fine, I added some additional taco seasoning. The cornbread mix is was ruined it, it seriously tasted like baked vomit. TERRIBLE!

When I put the cornbread mix on top and put it in the oven it started smelling like a chemical was being produced and it taste like I was eating oven cleaner. I will never buy that product again nor will I not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is one awesome little dish. This is one awesome little dish. Reheats great and tastes even better with reduced water and diced tomato and chilis. I have made this numerous times and it is the best of all the dinner kits I have tried thus far. Highly recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This recipe from the front of the box looks so tasty. This recipe from the front of the box looks so tasty. But, once I made it. I was very disappointed because the cornbread was the Jiffy style. Not something I would mix with Mexican flavors. Good luck to anyone who tries this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This was yucky. This was yucky. It's not that the cornbread is too sweet - I like sweet cornbread - but it had an off taste. Next time I'll make something similar, but just make chili and my favorite cornbread.
