  • Combine first 4 ingredients in large microwaveable bowl.
  • Microwave on HIGH 5 min. or until VELVEETA is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 3 min.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.

Variation

Prepare using 2% Milk VELVEETA, and BREAKSTONE'S Reduced Fat or KNUDSEN Light Sour Cream.

To Halve

Cut ingredients in half; combine in 1-qt. microwaveable bowl. Microwave on HIGH 3 to 4 min. or until VELVEETA is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring after 2 min. Makes 12 servings, 2 Tbsp. each.

Serve with your favorite crackers and/or assorted cut-up fresh vegetables.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Because others had said the velveeta overpowers the crab, I used half cream cheese and half... Because others had said the velveeta overpowers the crab, I used half cream cheese and half velveeta, same ammount of crab, and I used crushed red pepper flakes since that's what I had on hand. I didn't have any onions or peppers, so I left those out. I added a touch of milk to thin it when I reheated. It was absolutely excellent. I'm making it again tonight, and it's just great-- definitely company-worthy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favorite dish. Not my favorite dish. The ingredients need to be adjusted greatly. I am slowly becoming a disliker of Velveeta cheese because it becomes so runny. This is the second dish I've made that it's been this way. I ended up adding 3 cans of crab to even out the taste and I didn't even look forward to always reheating the dish. I won't make this again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from We weren't impressed with this recipe at all. We weren't impressed with this recipe at all. It was disappointing, and after tasting it, I threw it out. A much better crab dip is one that uses 1 can drained crabmeat, 1 can-ful of Miracle Whip, 1 tsp. Zatarain's liquid seafood seasoning, and two cans-ful of grated cheddar cheese. Sorry, but the Velveeta was just too much for us in this recipe.

I made this for a huge group on vacation and everyone loved it... the only thing I noticed was that the dips pretty thick after just a few minutes and the velveeta over powers the crab taste a little bit... I will add more crab when I make it next time, but overall it was great!

Everytime there is a function I am asked to bring this along, which is fine because its so easy to make and take somewhere. Great if you keep it in a little crock-pot to keep warm at parties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a wonderful dip. This is a wonderful dip. My husband already made it at least five times. It's great to take to a get-together because it is so fast and easy to make. He finally found a great recipe for the crab he catches, he puts in a little more than 6 oz.

Gave it just the extra kick that it needed. Next time I will try with lump crab instead of minced. Also a hit with the very picky husband. Very very good!

I made this dip for a work function during the holidays (I usually just make it for my boyfriend once a week... he loves this!). Everyone was so impressed with the dip, that they even requested that I bring it again for the next meeting!
