  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Prepare Dinner as directed on package. While Macaroni is cooking, cook meat with taco seasoning as directed on package.
  • Stir sour cream into prepared Dinner. Spoon half the Dinner mixture into 8-inch square baking dish; top with layers of meat mixture, half the cheddar and remaining Dinner mixture. Cover.
  • Bake 15 min. Top with salsa, remaining cheddar and crushed chips; bake, uncovered, 5 min.

I'm so glad I found this recipe - should definitely be one of the top 10 recipes! Although the total time listed on the recipe (35min) is misleading bc between boiling the water and scrambling the hamburger it takes me at least an hour to make this, but it is completely worth it and my husband loves it. I've already made it 2 weeks in a row and plan to keep it handy to make in the future since it would also make a great recipe for a potluck or holiday (its always hard to find something that isn't a dessert for those things).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My family really enjoyed this dish. My family really enjoyed this dish. I added a can of whole kernel corn to meat mixture. I also used 2 cups of wheat shells with 4 ozs. of Velveeta Mexican Cheese instead of the box combination. It was very delicious. I certainly will try it again with more chips layered in the middle layer and then top.

Since I am not a fan of jar-salsa, I used a can of Rotel instead - drained to substitute. Served with a dollop of sour ***** on top and extra chips - YUM!
