Rated 1 out of 5 by from The recipe may well be good, but it's not Viennese. The recipe may well be good, but it's not Viennese. My family come from Vienna and the only flavouring that is sometimes added to coffee is fig extract (Feigenkaffee). This was formerly added because of its vaguely coffeelike flavour and as a method of stretching out expensive coffee. With the rise of living standards, it has declined. There are one or two Viennese coffee varieties where cinnamon is sprinkled on top of the coffee, but it is NEVER added to the coffee.

I made this, and for those who don't want to particularly measure out 6 cups cold water, just know it's a whole pot. This coffee is rather bold also, so I like it in the morning to jumpstart my day, or after a VERY big meal to get me motivated again, with my dessert. I wouldn't recommend such strong coffee as a "midday snack" coffee. Other than that, it's great, but then again I love ALL coffee so....:)

ENJOY !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One of your comments said that there was so much coffee that it ran over the basket. One of your comments said that there was so much coffee that it ran over the basket. The problem wasn't the amount of coffee. It was the cinnamon that clogged the filter. Put the cinnamon in the carafe. Use a cinnamon bark stick instead of ground cinnamon and you will love it. I've flavored my coffee for years this way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for myself this morning and LOVED it! I made this for myself this morning and LOVED it! I used generic coffee but it still came out wonderful. I used skim milk which kept the coffee a bit dark but still yummy! Tastes just like coffee I would buy at a coffeehouse! After the 2nd cup I used plain coffee creamer and even yummier! Definitely worth a try!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this coffee and enjoyed it so much I tried a few variations. I made this coffee and enjoyed it so much I tried a few variations. One day a put a few drops of almond extract in the empty coffee pot and another day I tried a few drops of raspberry flavoring. Of course, I did not use the cinnamon. Now when I have a friend over for coffee, we have a real treat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good. Very good. This is great when you are craving a good cup of coffee from a real coffee house. I made this with Splenda instead of sugar. The first time I made it, it was too sweet. So when I tried it again, I added less splenda after the coffee was brewed.
