I've been asked by his school how to make it and passed on the recipe and this web site. The nursery/kindergarten program now regularly uses this recipe for snack time. I use the syrup as a dip instead of pouring it straight on. It reminds me of a McGriddle without the egg, from McDonald's, only healthier and cheaper. VERY DELICIOUS!!!

Okay, I didn't actually try this, but I made it for my son to take to school and he said he ate it all and didn't even take the apples off. This from a boy that doesn't like to try things that normally don't go together. I put the syrup on there and later when I mentioned that he said there wasn't syrup on it. I think the flavors just worked and he didn't realize where the sweetness came from.

I liked this recipe, but when you don't have ham use peanut butter and a touch of honey with apple, banana slices (or both for extra yummyness). Not only did my daughter like it, so did my husband!

I thought it was going to be really weird but when you dip it in the syrup you can't even taste the sandwich meat or cheese. It was really good and the apples gave it a cool taste.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was tasty. This was tasty. I did modify it a bit. I added a slice of turkey bacon. I toasted it after putting it together to melt the cheese and heat the apples. Very tasty.
