I cut my baking teeth on this recipe -- 50 years ago!! In eighth grade I got on a kick of trying different chocolate cake recipes whenever my mom would tolerate my monopolizing the kitchen on winter Saturday afternoons. This was and still is my favorite. It was just a recipe on the back of the Baker's chocolate box, or maybe it was Hershey's Cocoa. But it got the best reviews in the house, over any that came of out the popular cookbooks of the day. Brings back fond memories to see it here.

one of the best chocolate cake recipes I tried so far.. substituted half a cup of flour for half a cup of custard powder though for a creamier taste
