Applesauce Meatballs

1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups seasoned stuffing croutons
1 1/2 lb ground beef
2/3 cup applesauce
3 Tbsp finely chopped onions
1 1/2 tsp salt
Dash of pepper
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water or milk

Beat egg with milk; add croutons. Let stand 5 minutes or until croutons are soft. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Add meat, applesauce, onion, salt and pepper. Combine thoroughly.

Shape mixture into 24 balls about 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Place in shallow baking pan. Combine soup and water/milk; pour over meatballs.

Bake at 350°F about 45 minutes. Serve on cooked noodles or rice.
