Stir together sugar, butter, cocoa, milk, & salt. Place over medium heat until mixture comes to full boil. Boil 3 to 4 minutes.
Remove from heat. Stir in the oats, peanut butter, and vanilla.
Drop by the spoonfuls onto wax paper and let cool.
