Sautee garlic in margarine until tender. Steam potatoes and onion until firm tender in chicken broth (save broth).
In blender cream potatoes, onion, and garlic (1/2 at a time) and put in a pot with chicken broth. Add cream of mushroom soup. Blend chopped mushrooms with milk and add to pot, bring to slow boil.
Reduce heat, add condiments, cover and cook on low for 10 minutes.
