Cream margarine and sugar until light and creamy. Add egg yolk and mix thoroughly. Blend chopped fruits and nuts. Add flour and salt gradually and work in well. Beat egg white stiff, but not dry, and fold into cookie mixture.
Drop by teaspoon, 2 inches apart, on foil lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Completely cool before removing from foil.
