Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 bag (14 oz.) caramels
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chocolate chips
1 can chocolate frosting

In a saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels with butter and milk.

Mix cake according to directions. Pour half of batter into a greased and floured 13x9 pan. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.

Remove pan from oven and pour on caramel mixture. Top with pecans and chocolate chips. Pour second half of cake batter over the top. Bake 20 minutes at 350°F. Cool and frost.
