Mix sugar and milk in large saucepan on med-high until soft ball stage. While this is cooking, take stick of butter and grease a medium serving platter.
Once your mixture is at soft ball stage, remove from heat. Add vanilla, peanut butter, and butter, stir quickly.
Pour evenly into platter. Pot and mixture is very hot, be careful.
