Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup solid vegetable shortening
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup old fashioned or quick - cooking rolled oats, uncooked
1 cup Post Bran Flakes
1 cup Post Corn Flakes
1 cup Baker's Shredded Coconut
Walnut halves (optional)

Beat granulated sugar, brown sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt into another bowl. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture; mix well. Add oats, Post Bran and Corn Flakes and coconut; mix well.

Roll cookie dough between palms to form small, walnut size or slightly larger balls. Place balls on well - greased baking sheets; flatten balls with tines of a fork. If desired, press walnut half in center of each.

Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F oven 12 - 15 minutes, or until done. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool.
