1 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening (soft)
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 Tbsp water
1/2 tsp vanilla

Combine sifted flour, baking soda and salt. Beat on medium speed the last 7 ingredients. Stop mixer & scrape the bowl & beaters. Add sifted flour mixture & again beat on med. speed, 1 min., scraping bowl while beating.

Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet, press lightly with a fork that has been dipped in flour- to flatten cookies & make top ridged.

Bake at 325°F for 15-20 minutes.
