Mix onions and butter in crock-pot. Cover and cook on high 30 min or until onions begin to brown slightly around edges.
Mix flour, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and pepper. Stir flour mixture and broth into onions.
Cover and cook on low 7 hours or until onions are tender. Serve with plain large croutons on top and lots of shredded mozzarella cheese!!!
