Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add buttermilk. Combine next 7 ingredients, add to creamed mixture alternately with pumpkin, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in raisins, vanilla and pecans.
Spoon into 3 greased and floured loaf pans.
Bake at 350 degrees F about 1 hour until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 min and remove. Cool completely before wrapping in clear wrap.
