3 cups flour (not sifted before measure)
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1-1/2 cups white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash of nutmeg

Let's Make It

Cut into dry sifted mixture the butter as in mixing pastry. Add eggs and sugar. Beat well. Add vanilla and the nutmeg. Chill at least 1 hour.

Roll dough thin on lightly floured surface. Cut with your favorite cookie cutters, Sprinkle each with sugar.

Bake on unseasoned cookie sheet until lightly brown around the edges, 8-10 minutes.
