Remove all plastic and paper from ham. Place ham on a plate and insert clove stems into ham in rows on top and sides of ham. Set ham in shallow baking dish and add just enough water to cover bottom of dish.
In a bowl mix brown sugar and mustard (for thinner glaze add water, mixture is very thick so I stir in just a tablespoon of water at a time to the desired consistency). Drizzle 1/2 the glaze over ham to coat top and sides, reserve remaining glaze.
Cover baking dish with foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 1/2 hour. Remove ham from oven and drizzle remaining glaze, then return to oven uncovered for 1/2 hour more.
Remove from oven, place ham on a plate and remove cloves, (Careful they are hot!). Slice the ham to desired thickness. Stir the glaze that is left in the baking dish and drizzle a small amount over the ham slices. Pour remaining glaze into individual heat proof dishes, (Pyrex custard cups or coffee cups work well) to dip the ham in as it is being devoured.
