Wash and cut carrot and celery branch very thin. Place water, chicken granules, carrot slices, and celery slices in a medium pan with a cover. Bring the water to a full rounding boil.
Add the brown rice and cover pan and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
Turn heat off and leave covered for 5 minutes. The vegetables will be crisp. Sprinkle rice mixture with thyme leaves.
