Preheat oven to 400°F. Melt butter/margarine and place in 9x13 oblong baking pan. In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cheese and salt together. Add milk, and stir about 30 times or until just combined.
On floured board, knead 10 times, roll and cut into strips 1" wide.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until light brown, and then turn over onto other side for a few min until done.
