Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 cups self-rising flour (plus 1/4 teaspoon soda)
2 cups sugar
3 cups persimmon pulp
3 eggs, well beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 stick margarine or butter, melted

In large mixing bowl sift together flour and sugar. In separate bowl, combine pulp, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Then pour into bowl with dry ingredients and mix well. Add melted butter last and stir in well.

Pour into well greased 9" x 13" pan.

Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours or until done.
