Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 package German chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1 1/4 cups water
1 bag (14 oz.) caramels
1 stick margarine
1/3 cup milk
3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Mix cake according to directions on box. Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 9x13" cake pan. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.

Melt caramels, margarine, and milk in double boiler stirring to combine. Pour over cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over caramel mixture. Bake at 250°F for 20 minutes.

Remove and pour remaining cake mix on top of cake, turn oven back to 350°F and bake 10-15 until done.
