Original recipe yields 1 serving
Cake
2 cups flour (not sifted)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
Dash of salt (about 1/8 of a teaspoon)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 can (1 lb. 4oz.) crushed pineapple (juice and all) the pineapple juice is your liquid for the recipe
1 cup chopped walnuts (do not use black walnuts) you can substitute chopped pecans if you desire.
Cream cheese frosting
1 stick butter or margarine, softened
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 lb box powdered sugar

Mix all cake ingredients into large mixing bowl. Mix by hand or with mixer on medium setting until all ingredients are blended well. Pour into a lightly greased and floured 13x9x11 cake pan.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool cake completely then frost with the Cream Cheese Frosting.

Cream butter and cream cheese together until smooth, add the vanilla mixing well. Add the powdered sugar a little at a time until you have added the whole box, mixing until smooth and creamy. Frost cooled cake.
