Place chicken in large pot with water, enough to cover chicken, and add salt and pepper to your liking. Boil till there is no pink in center of chicken.
Remove the chicken from water and add noodles to the broth. Do not overcook noodles. Dice chicken into cubes.
In layers place half of the noodles, half chicken, 3 cups cheese, and sprinkle with chives. Now start last layer same order. Pour about 1/2 cup of broth over entire dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F until cheese is melted real well, about 30 minutes.
