Original recipe yields 1 serving
lb 1 to 1-1/2 stewing beef, cut into medium or large cubes
2 large potatoes, cut into cubes
1 or 2 carrots, sliced
1 stalk celery, sliced
Any leftover vegetables you may have in refrigerator (optional)
1/2 small cabbage, sliced up or very coarsly grated
4 or 5 button mushrooms, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 to 1/2 an envelope of dry onion soup mix
1 can golden mushroom soup
Water

1) Cook beef cubes until browned. Place cooked beef and all vegetables into a 13 by 9 inch casserole dish. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

2) Sprinkle beef with onion soup mix. Spoon golden mushroom soup mix over top. Pour 1/2 soup can of water over top and cover with foil

3) Bake in 425 degrees F oven for 60 to 90 minutes until veggies are cooked and soup has become a nice thick gravy.
