Hot Mexican Cornbread

Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 cup cornmeal
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk
1/2 bacon drippings
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 can (15 oz.) cream style corn
1 lb ground meat
1 medium onion, diced
3 or 4 jalapeno pepper diced
1 lb cheese, grated

Brown and drain ground meat. Mix first 7 ingredients together. Mix well.

Pour 1/2 cornmeal batter in to greased 9x9 in pan. Top with meat, onion, peppers and cheese. Top with remaining batter.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 - 40 minutes.
