Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp clove
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg

In one bowl mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ground ginger, clove and salt. After you have finish mixing, put aside.

In a large bowl combine sugar, shortening, molasses and egg than beat with beater slowly adding flour mixture.

Cover and refrigerator for an hour.

Preheat oven to 325°F. After it is done being in the fridge, roll into balls in drop of sugars. Put on a baking sheet; bake it for 5 to 10 minutes.
