Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped Vidalia onions
1 cup thick & chunky salsa
3/4 cup water
1 packet regular taco seasoning mix
1 can (15 oz.) kidney beans, drained
6 tortilla shells
6 cups shredded lettuce
3/4 cup shredded taco blend cheese or cheddar cheese
2 tomatoes, diced
1/2 cup sour cream

Cook beef and onion until beef is browned; drain. Stir in salsa, water and seasoning mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in beans.

Layer ingredients as follows in each shell: 1 cup lettuce, 3/4 cup meat mixture, 2 tablespoons cheese, and tomatoes for garnish.

Serve with taco sauce, if desired & sour cream.
