2 lb ripe black plums, halved, pitted, each half cut in 4 wedges
1/4 cup plus 1 tsp. sugar
1 bag (7.75 oz.) complete biscuit mix

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Have 2 qt 2-inch deep baking dish ready.

Put fruit in baking dish, add 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tsp. water; toss gently to mix and coat. Cover lightly with foil.

Bake 25 min until hot and bubbly.

Stir biscuit mix and 1/2 cup water until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls in 6 evenly spaced mounds on fruit. Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. sugar.

Bake 10-15 min until biscuits are golden brown.
