Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Using a mixer, beat butter and shortening at medium speed until creamy. Gradually add sugars, beating well. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. In a separate bowl, combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in coffee beans and candy. If desired, cover and chill dough.
Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 11 minutes or until golden. Cool on cookie sheets 1 minute; remove to wire racks and cool completely. Enjoy!
