Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 & 1/2 cups peeled diced tomatoes (or canned diced tomatoes)
2 cans (10 oz. each) tomato soup
1 cup light sour cream
10 oz half & half - or 2% milk, if preferred
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp coarse ground pepper
2 Tbsp basil - dry or fresh chopped
Top garnish - parmesan roasted almond slices - available packaged

In a large (2 quart) pan mix all ingredients except nuts.

Heat on low stirring frequently to very hot. Do not boil. (About 20 minutes)

Place in soup bowls garnished with the almonds. Serve with hearty Italian or French Bread and a green salad.
