Original recipe yields 1 serving
5 cups water
5 Tbsp chicken soup base
5 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
1 cup celery, diced
2 cups carrots, diced
1 large sweet onion, diced
2 cups broccoli florets, diced
1 can kernel corn
Diced cooked ham or crisp bacon
2 cups half-and-half cream
3 cups milk
16 oz Velveeta or Cheez Whiz
1 cube margarine
3/4 cup flour

In an 8 quart stalk pot, add water, soup base, and diced fresh vegetables. Boil for 10 to 15 minutes or until veggies are softened.

Add corn, ham, half-and-half, milk, and cheese.

In another sauce pan, or microwave, melt margarine and stir in flour until smooth (rue). Stir in rue to soup and simmer until soup is thick and creamy. Do not boil.
