Bake cake as directed on box. Let cake cool approximately 30 minutes.
While cake is cooling, combine pineapples (with the liquid) and sugar in a sauce pan. Cook pineapples until they become golden and the liquid is the consistency of syrup. Let the mixture cool for approximately 30 minutes.
Once the mixture is cooled, cover the cake with the pineapples by spooning on the tops and sides of the cake. Enjoy!
