Use a large mixing bowl that you can also store the dip in. Empty out the sour cream into the bowl. Mix in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
Mix in salsa (I only use a half a jar's worth) Mix in 1 teaspoon of ground red pepper.
Then put the other teaspoon unmixed on top of the dip and serve.
