Original recipe yields 1 serving
6 large apples
2 (9") pie crusts
2 tablespoon flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ginger
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 tablespoon butter

Peel and quarter apples. Simmer in 1/4 cup water until tender, 5 minutes to cool. Fill 1 pie crusts with apples, set aside.

Mix all above ingredients, minus butter, and pour over apples. Cut 2nd pie crust into plaid pattern and layer over top of apples and mix, adding butter in the middle and on top.

Bake at 450°F for 35 minutes.
