Easy Apple Crisp Pie

Original recipe yields 1 serving
5 granny smith apples
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1 stick light butter (can use regular too)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp sugar (or sugar substitute can be used)

Step One: Cut the apples into bite size pieces and put in a large bowl. Along with the apples, put in the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Step Two: In a food processor or with a hand mixer mix the light butter, flour and sugar (granulated sugar not the brown sugar)

Step Three: After mixing, ball the dough up, and cut the dough into two sections. (One will be used for the bottom of the crust and then the rest to top it)

Step Four: Pour the apple mixture into the pie pan (can be glass) and place the remaining half of the dough on top.

Step Four: Poke holes in the top of the pie and sprinkle brown sugar over the top.

Step Five: Bake at 400 degrees F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. (Check around 20 minutes to see if the pie is browning - ovens vary on temp.)

Step Six: Take the pie out of the oven and rest for 15 minutes.
